Why should I care?

Extremist settler organizations utilize a system of unjust legal discrimination upheld by the Israeli government in order to evict Palestinian families in East Jerusalem.

The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Housing, the Jerusalem Municipality, and other state-backed institutions fund, facilitate, and expedite these organizations’ unjust eviction process.

-Obtained property rights from two committees who claim to have purchased the land in Sheikh Jarrah in the 19th century

-Has caused 11 families to be evicted and replaced by settlers since 2008

-Over 75 more families are currently under threat of eviction.

-Secured a trustee to claim the land title in Batan al-Hawa, Silwan from the Benevenisti Trust, which operated in the area in the late 19th century
